A multi-instrumentalist who can switch around between instruments would be ideal, but not mandatory. Vocal ability is a big plus. We’re not looking for any specific instruments. If you think you can add something with your instrument(s), then please contact us. We’re willing to consider organ, keyboard, guitar, trumpet, trombone, french horn, violin, viola, cello, vibes, etc.
Come on out tonight and enjoy some sweet and sour sounds at Austin’s best new live music venue.
As we get ready for our CD release this weekend, stream our new record “Live forever”. Also available on our music page.
Here is the Music Player. You need to installl flash player to show this cool thing!
Deaf Ears frontman Joel Mullins sat down with The Backline Show’s Josh Shepard earlier this week to talk about the band and the upcoming album. The interview and a track from the album are included in this week’s show, which you can listen to at www.backlineshow.com. You can listen to the entire show by clicking on the link below THE SHOW heading, or if you just want to skip straight to the interview, use the drop-down menu under THE INTERVIEWS heading. Enjoy.

The pressing plant is working on our CDs right now, and we should have them in a few weeks, so it’s possible that we’ll be giving a few advance copies out for free at our next show, which is Saturday, August 29 at Stubb’s, with our good friends The Pons, Michael Kingcaid of What Made Milwaukee Famous, and The Mercers.
And don’t forget about the CD release show at Club DeVille on Saturday, September 26!
See you soon,
THE DEAF EARS

The album is finally finished! We’re done mixing and are sending it off to Jim Wilson in Colorado to be mastered later this week. Now we’re busy working on the artwork and making plans for the release. Don’t forget that we’re releasing the disc with a CD Release Party at Club DeVille on Saturday, September 26.
In other news, our friends at Almost There Records are getting ready to release a brand new compilation CD called Turn 5, featuring “Army of Wit,” a song from our upcoming album, as well as songs from other great Austin bands, including The Pons, Zykos, Grand Champeen, Monohans, Rockland Eagles, and many more. The Deaf Ears will be playing 4 or 5 songs at the release show for the CD, Saturday, June 27, at the Continental Club.
That’s it for now. Talk to you soon.

The Deaf Ears first entered the studio in October 2007. And now, only 19 months later, we are happy to announce that on Saturday, September 26, 2009, after many delays and the birth of three band babies, our work will finally be released to the public with a big CD Release Party at Club DeVille in Austin, Texas. We’re mixing right now and will soon be making decisions on the final tracklisting and artwork. More info is forthcoming.
Here is a teaser track from the album.
